Who am I?
My name’s Tim Ceuppens and I’m a web developer based in Antwerp, Belgium. I’ve set my first footsteps on the web in 1996 but things didn’t get out of hand until I bought a book called “Your own homepage” a year later. Ever since then I’ve been hammering away at a wide array of sites.
In 2000 I came in contact with something called “Open source” through YaBB, a bulletin board written in Perl. I stuck around answering questions and before I knew it I got involved in the project. I’ve designed parts of YaBB as well as most of its early day websites.
I got to know Web Standards while I was cleaning up the HTML code of the PHP port YaBBSE. I picked up most of my knowledge of front-end web development through blogs, the occasional book and trial and error (and there’s been a lot of that).
My entire adolescent and adult life has revolved around HTML, CSS and websites in one way or the other. In 2007 I decided I might as well find a web related job and I’m glad to say that it didn’t take me very long to find one. I’m a Search Engine Optimizer for QueroMedia, Belgium’s finest Search Marketing firm. For the past two years or so I’ve also taken a keen interest in Usability and Accessibility.
I started this blog because I wanted to do my part to make the web a better place for everyone. I learned most of everything I know from blogs, I figured this was the perfect way to give something back to the global web community..
